Exclamation Possible nits???

My Picasso is still having skin issues that the vet has never and apparently will never cure. Well today after his bath and he was nice and dry I started to scratch his back and he had this look of total bliss. I looked through his light colored fur and noticed was kinda looks like brown nits close to his skin but on his fur. No fleas.
Being in Florida I thought maybe it's headlice but none of us have it (Thank you God!!) So my question is...is there some type of nit or parasite that lays nits? His rash still looks like ring worm spots but yet he is non responsive to meds for that.
I've been giving him benedryl.
I'm sorry I haven't been on in a while. I miss all of you. I'll be back on tonight. Thank you xoxo

I have no idea either about this. Have you maybe tried searching on the internet? Or maybe tried another Vet even though I know you have a good one now.

I would recommend trying another vet. When you know something is wrong and the vet can't find it....maybe another vet will.

He's went to every vet over here. I've spent over 4,000 for creams, pills, shampoos...steroids, antibiotics, changed his food, carpet...I'm at wits end. I'm going to buy flea and tick shampoo and see if it kills any mites if thats it. Who knows..he may not have anything but dry skin. Can I give him vitamin E gel tablets? Anything to moisterize his coat from the inside??

I am not certain about the Vit E gel but a good friend of mine told me if I give Katie and Moosie 1 teaspoon a day of veg oil in their food it would help cut down on their shedding. When I do follow that routine, their coats seem to glisten, there is less shedding and skin is smooth. I would agree with everyone, try a new vet. Some vits are water soluable and some are not...those that are not can build up in the body and cause a toxity. I sure hope you find an answer soon. Big hugs to all of you.
